November 7th/14th Dry Point Printing demonstration and workshop with Cath Brooke from West Yorkshire Print Works.
A wonderful two weeks learning and exploring the skill of Dry Point Printing with great tuition and guidance from Cath Brooke. Fantastic results in week two in just two hours.
In the style of Van Gogh
Members chose to make their own versions of Van Gogh works or create their own using his painting style. Not all the below are finished pieces, but the results are stunning.
Summer Projects 2017
Tuesday 20th June - Movement
The evening ran in three parts. 1. Capturing a moving crowd quickly. 2. Drawing human movement from still shots. 3. Drawing/painting from a video in slow motion showing movement.
Tuesday 13th June-Brusho workshop with Carrie McKenzie at Calder Graphics
Another fun workshop at Calder Graphics, Carrie is a great demonstrator giving us lots of tips and guidance as we worked with Brusho. Starting with a basic sprinkle and spray technique to form a tree we quickly progressed to painting either an elephant or garden scene.
Saturday 27th May workshop with Paul Talbot Greaves
A wonderfully inspirational workshop, the challenge is remembering everything we've learnt.
2nd May Demonstration by Paul Talbot Greaves
Great to watch Paul work as the painting literally emerged from the paper, i'm looking forward to the workshop to have a go.
4th & 11th April-life drawing.
Lots of wonderful life art from our two sessions with our fabulous model Angela.
21st March - workshop with Pippa Ashworth
A wonderful evening with Pippa who got us all to focus on just mark making and textures in landscape. We all explored a variety of tools, brushes, sticks sponges etc. Our aim is to make them into folded books which can act as a starting point for painting.
24th January- Workshop with Anne Allan on Chinese Brush Work
A great informative evening with Anne learning some basic skills on Chinese Brush Work, the two hours flew by! Thank you Anne.
10th January - Experimenting with Brusho
A frantic night following a DVD by Joanne Boon Thomas on using Brusho. We managed to all complete the two pieces in the one evening and once again amazing diversity in the art work produced. The first to one was flowers in a vase using a sprinkle and spray method and the second painting involved more of a wash technique and then lightening up areas using bleach. Lot's of messy fun and a big thanks to Geoff for your help and support.
