Please note - 
Open sessions means bring your own art pieces to work on.  
Type in bold means the workshop/demonstration/life models is being led by a professional demonstrator/sitter.  Numbers might be limited for these sessions, a sign up sheet will be used if this is the case.  Preference will always go to full members who pay termly. 
The calendar is optional and you are welcome to just come along and do your own art if you prefer.

2023

March

7th - Open Session
14th -Big Skies and Oceans with Acrylic FIONA
21st - Tony Burke - Paint along Watercolour Workshop Fiona
28th - Exhibition prep / Open Session

April

1st Saturday exhibition Set up Time TBC- social and by invitation evening
2nd Sunday Annual exhibition, take down the stands and put away at the end.
4th - AGM with contribution supper - NIGEL
11th - No ART Group -  Closed for the Pierrot players 
18th -Up-cycling from charity shops - KAREN & JULIET 
25th - Portrait Skills - NIGEL

May

2nd - 
Demonstration and Talk on Oil Painting and Using Cold Wax Medium with Oils.
9th - Following on from last week’s talk, come and try painting with oils and cold wax. It is important that people attending this session must come to the talk and demo on the 2nd so that you can get the best out of the session.Additional cost for this session will be £3 for materials used. See the notes for what the session entails and what you need to bring with you. Jo will provide the paints and medium.
16th - Juicy Watercolours Demo/ Workshop by Adele - Juliets friend
23rd - Open Session
30th - Floral Still Life or Neil? TBC (Kirk Half term)

June

6th - Painting / drawing outdoors 6.30pm onwards, meeting at Farnley Tyas. Lots of lovely locations in and around the village. If the weather isn't great we can sit outside under the shelter at the Golden Cock to the rear of the pub or go inside.  Perhaps meet up for a drink at 8.30 ish. 
13th - Open Session
20th - Carl Longmate Demo

Carl is a local artist who loves to paint en plein air, He mainly works in oil and will be demonstrating in this medium. No need for you to bring anything along to this session except maybe a notebook. The following Tuesday 27th June Carl will lead a painting session in Juliet's garden in Holmfirth (weather permitting).
27th - This session has been  cancelled due to poor weather and is now moved to the 11th July (see below)

July

4th -Visit to Holmfirth Art week, main hall, 7 pm onwards with a social drink afterwards.
11th -  Daytime Workshop at Juliet's house/Garden in Holmfirth with Carl Longmate

Carl will lead a painting session in Juliet's garden in Holmfirth (weather permitting). For this session you can paint in the medium of your choice following his guidelines re composition etc, learnt from his demonstration.
