Further detailed notes RELATING TO THE CALENDAR sessions ARE NOW UNDER THE NEW heading tab calendar notes , please see above.
10th April - the note below is our most recent news which you've hopefully already viewed as an email.
Hello Shelley Art Group Members I'm really pleased to let you know that we plan to hold an Open Air session at Cannon Hall on 27th April. We will meet by the cafe in the main lower car park (opposite the Garden Centre) at 1.30pm for a catch up and sketching / painting session. The cafe will be open and the toilets have been refurbished, there is plenty of space to spread out and the kids are at school so it should be good!
Obviously there are considerations.... the weather for starters, we won't meet if it is likely to be wet, also we must keep within government guidelines so no grouping of more than six people together and the worst possible scenario, further restrictions may be put in place (Barnsley covid figures not good at the moment) and we have to cancel. If you decide to join us you might want to bring a chair as well as your sketching equipment
With regard to meeting in Shelley Village Hall, the Community Association committee have decided that they will not be opening until at least 17th May so it would seem that only opportunity to get together is going to be for outdoor sketching sessions. If any of you have suggestions for suitable locations please let us know.
Just one more piece of exciting news, we have booked the hall for a very low key showcase style exhibition on Sunday 4th July to coincide with Shelley Open Gardens. This will give us a chance to display any new work completed over lockdown and to remind the community of our existence! The plan is to keep things really simple, no refreshments, no raffle no entry forms even, it will be a case of just turning up with your pictures, putting your stand up, doing a one hour duty at some point and bob's your uncle off you go to see the gardens!!
Can't wait to see you all again! I'm absolutely sick of limited social contact!
