Shelley Art Group is a vibrant, friendly, social art club.
We meet every Tuesday at Shelley Village Hall, (98 Huddersfield Road, Shelley, HD8 8HE) 8 till 10 pm.
Our calendar is a fun mix of open sessions (work on whatever you like), themed nights, demonstrations and workshops which are usually hosted by local/regional artists using a variety of different media. Please see the calendar /calendar notes to view whats coming up.
We hold an annual exhibition every spring where the public are invited to browse, enjoy our creations, have a some food and drink and even purchase our art.
New members are always welcome and don't need to have any previous artistic experience or capabilities. Taking part in the Calendar activities is optional, you will need your own art materials, but initially just bringing an art paper pad and pencils would be fine. Please just come along and have some fun.
For new members the first two sessions are free and the first full term is at a reduced rate of £20. (pro rata if you start mid term).
We run three terms from September: split roughly like school terms, it works out to be about 42 weeks throughout the year. Subscriptions can be paid in full £75 in September or at the start of each term £25. For anyone who is unable to attend on a regular basis then we ask for:
£3.50 for a drop in normal session
and £5 if you are attending a workshop or demonstration or anything the club has had to finance
Since Covid, we ask for all subscriptions to be paid online if possible. Debs can give you the banking details and other options if you feel unable to do this.
